Humanity witnessed another tragic period in 2020. Although more than a year has passed since the beginning of the pandemic, this difficult period still continues. We stayed away from many activities that are almost as natural as breathing and drinking water in our daily lives. From our homes where we mostly take shelter, we couldn't see the blue of the sky, the turquoise of the sea, the pink of the flowers; we couldn't hug the people we love, and even lost the ones we care about most.
The idea of "Free Flow" originated and matured under these conditions. Free Flow is a proof that nature and life flow at their own pace, despite the times when everything that is the routine of our lives is hindered. It is a representation of the existence of color and hope, in spite of our increasingly discolored days when we are imprisoned in houses.
The most important feature of water is that it finds its own way, no matter how much you try to prevent it. It flows, overflows, leaks or it evaporates and rains, but ultimately it adapts itself to all conditions. Moreover, its every form is impressive!
While I was creating my new photography series, the war of sadness and hope, pallor and color, destruction and life guided me. I have reflected my passion for different states of water in my photographs before. Sometimes it was a beach while flying or an untouched lagoon, sometimes it was meters under the sea in different geographies of the world.
As the thinker Khalil Gibran said, "In one drop of water are found all the secrets of all the oceans". In my opinion, in one drop of water are found all secrets of life. My effort was to get as close to that single drop as possible. As a matter of fact, as I got closer, that single drop got more poetic and fascinating.
Free Flow tells that life can continue with hope, color and existence with all its beauty. Hope you can feel this magic while looking at the poetic appearance of a single drop…
